FC Barcelona and Real Madrid enjoy arguably the biggest rivalry in football but Barca legend Rivaldo believes his former club could benefit by signing a group of players from across the divide.

In an interview with bookmakers Betfair, Rivaldo named a list of three current Real stars who would fit in well at Barcelona, although he admits a deal would be unlikely.
"Real Madrid are shuffling their squad and some talented footballers may leave soon. Isco, Marco Asensio and Gareth Bale are some of those players and I'm certain that any one of them could be useful at Barcelona," said Rivaldo.
"However, I don't remember any direct transfers from Real Madrid to Barcelona or vice versa. Obviously the is a big rivalry between them tends to abort these discussions and I don't think those signings would happen for Barca, unless they pay what Madrid ask."

Despite the intense rivalry between fans of players of the set of Spanish giants, a number of players have moved directly between the two clubs over the years.
Luis Enrique and Bernd Schuster, who enjoyed spells as manager at Barcelona and Real Madrid respectively, both moved directly between the two clubs during their playing careers, as did Michael Laudrup and Javier Saviola.
The most controversial transfer remains Luis Figo's move from Barcelona to Real Madrid in 2000. The Portuguese star was revered at Barcelona but moved to Real for a then-world-record fee after Los Blancos triggered his €62 million (R969 million) release clause.

Rivaldo spent five seasons at Barcelona between 1997 and 2002 during which he scored 130 goals in 235 appearances for the club.
