On the weekend, British publication the Daily Mirror reported that the LaLiga champions are keen to secure Arsenal Player of the Year Alexandre Lacazette's services, but only if they are unable to land long-term target Antoine Griezmann.
It has been claimed the Atletico Madrid talisman has re-emerged as the Blaugrana's main transfer target for the new season, especially given the erratic performances of big-name signings Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Demebele since their arrivals at the club.
According to the Metro, with Barcelona's reported interest in Manchester United star Marcus Rashford having waned due the England international's reported £130 million (R2.5 billion) price tag, the club is said to have reshifted its focus to Lacazette.
With Arsenal still vying for a spot in the UEFA Champions League next season, the Gunners could struggle to hold on to their striker, who is said to have a good relationship with Barca director of football Eric Abidal.
It has also been claimed that Ernesto Valverde's side could offload under-fire star Coutinho to raise the necessary funds to sign the former Lyon talisman.
Lacazette has made 46 appearances across all competitions for Arsenal so far this season, finding the back of the net on 18 occasions and registering 12 assists.
