Despite ending up on the losing side, FC Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi made Copa del Rey history after finding the back of the net against Valencia.

Barca's streak of wining four successive Spanish Cups came to an end on Saturday evening following a 2-1 defeat to Valencia
Messi pulled a goal back in the second half, but it proved to be nothing more than a consolation in the final.
In doing so, the Argentine forward became the first player in Copa del Rey history to score in six finals.

Messi also moved up to sixth in the tournament's all-time scoring list with 50 goals, although he sits 31 strikes behind all-time leader Telmo Zarra.
The 31-year-old ends the season with 50 goals and 22 goals across all competitions for the Catalan giants this season.
