Following their elimination from the UEFA Champions League in a 4-0 second-leg semi-final defeat to Liverpool, the Blaugrana are poised for both incoming and outgoing activity in the transfer window in a bid to both bolster their squad for the 2019/2020 campaign, in addition to getting rid of deadwood.
Spanish publication AS recently reported that up to ten players could leave the club, with the likes of Philippe Coutinho, Ivan Rakitic and 2018 FIFA World Cup winner Samuel Umtiti forming part of the reported list.
Since then, Barcelona have been handed a considerable boost in their reported pursuit of one of the club's long-time transfer targets.
LaLiga outfit Atletico Madrid took to their official twitter account to reveal that French star Antoine Griezmann is set to leave the club at the end of the season, fuelling speculation that he could be set for a move to Barca.
2018 Golden Boy winner and Ajax' youngest ever captain De Ligt has not publicised where his future lies, but the 19-year-old rumoured to have attracted attention from the Barcelona, Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool.
In analysing which clubs the sought-after superstars might end up at, Josep Maria Minguella, who ran to be the Barca president in 2013, stated that the defender and attacker are both in the process of having their deals finalised by the Spanish giants ahead of their respective moves.
"Sources inside Barcelona told me they have finalized the deal of both Griezmann and De Ligt," Minguella told Catalunya Radio.
De Ligt has made a total of 55 appearances for Ajax in all competitions this season, while Griezmann has made 47 appearances for Atletico in all competition and the final game of the 2018/19 LaLiga campaign against Levante on Saturday could be the 28-year-old's last ever game for Diego Simeone's outfit.
