Mathieu, insists that the trio of Messi, Neymar and Luis Suárez have the potential to make 'sparks fly' in attack, but he isn't sure if all three will start tomorrow in El Clasico.
"We still don't know who'll play the Clásico, but the trio of Messi-Suárez-Neymar could do serious damage in attack. We'll see on the day, but sparks might fly," he told Marca.
The French defender, then praised teammate Lionel Messi and describing him as a 'pretty humble' and 'simple guy'.
"It's what I like about great players, It could all go to their heads because they've won everything but he's quite the opposite," he added
"The whole world knows how he plays, he's an incredibly skilful player who can get out of really difficult situations.
"Here it's obvious he's in a class of his own and is the club's outstanding player. He's untouchable."
Mathieu joined Barcelona this season from Spanish side Valencia and has already made eight appearances for his new club.
