Barcelona defender, Gerard Pique, was involved in a confrontation with police officers after a night out on the town.
According to the Spanish newspaper La Vanguardia, the incident took place around 2.30 Monday morning, when officers fined the defender's brother for parking in a bus lane in front of a nightclub.
When Pique's brother got handed his fine, the Spaniard took it and threw it at the officers' feet in disgust. Pique, was then handed a fine after showing the police officer a lack of respect.
It's reported that the Barcelona player yelled insults like: "You're jealous of me because I'm famous. You're fining me because you're on commission and are broke.
"This fine won't ever get paid because I'll call your boss and get it dealt with. I'm going to call your bosses and then you'll be in serious trouble.
"You're so full of yourselves, going around in your uniform and fining people like you're God's gift to the world. You're a disgrace, your profession and the entire police force are an f****** disgrace".
Pique, then went onto Twitter later that day to respond to the reports and sent out the following apology: "A lot of what I said has been exaggerated but, in any case, I'm sorry, I was wrong and it won't happen again".
Pique has made three appearances and scored one goal for Barcelona so far this season.
