South Africa's journey to the 2026 FIFA World Cup resumes later this week when they face off against Lesotho at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.
The 2022 Africa Cup of Nations bronze medallists are one of three teams tied on seven points in Group C, and a win over their neighbours would go a long way in bolstering their chances of qualifying for the global spectacle next year.
Speaking ahead of the clash against South Africa, Likuena's head coach Leslie Notsi revealed that he is expecting a tough task against one of the continent's finest sides.
"I think this is a match that is highly anticipated by the supporters as you know we are neighbouring countries, so it's not usual that we play often and people are looking forward to the game, which we believe is going to be a very great encounter," the former goalkeeper told CAF Online.
"Playing one of the best teams in our region and in Africa as a whole, having some of the best talented players with one of the shrewd coaches around, so it's going to be a very tough encounter which we believe we have to dig deep to put up a very good competitive game."
