Sadio Mane's missed spot-kick sent the Indomitable Lions into the semi-finals.
On Sunday, 29 January, Congo DR faced off against Ghana, and the Black Stars secured their sixth consecutive semi-final after goals from Jordan and Andre Ayew, with DRC hitting a consolation strike through Paul-Jose M'Poku.
In the fourth and final quarter-final, Mahmoud Kahraba sent Egypt through to the semi-finals with a late goal to beat a strong Moroccan side.
