According to The Guardian Nigeria, the organisation will hold serious discussions over the Portuguese tactician's future.
Peseiro's initial deal was set to expire after the tournament in the Ivory Coast, but the NFF is now expected to decide whether to extend his contract or allow him to depart.
The federation's president, Ibrahim Gusau, has previously stated that the 63-year-old would leave regardless of how the Super Eagles performed at the tournament, but the report claims certain members have asked for his continuation instead.
Nigeria progressed confidently from round to round in the continental showpiece, but stumbled at the final hurdle against the host nation, although many were impressed with Peseiro and his team.
Others in the NFF, however, reportedly feel the Super Eagles' showing in the final this past weekend prove he is incapable of leading the national team to success.
