10 Premier League Stars Who Could Shine At The 2017 Africa Cup of Nations

10 Premier League Stars Who Could Shine At The 2017 Africa Cup of Nations

The Premier League will be well represented at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Gabon – here are 10 EPL stars who could set the competition alight.

Click through the gallery above to see 10 EPL stars who could shine at AFCON 2017.

We start off with the reigning champions Ivory Coast, who have Manchester United defender Eric Bailly and Crystal Palace's Wilfried Zaha playing for them. Bailly, who has just come back from injury, has had a good start to his EPL career under Jose Mourinho, while Zaha has been in scintillating form for Palace, scoring for four goals and assisting eight further strikes so far this season.

Senegal have their fair share of representation in the English top flight, and three stars who could play a big part in their tournament campaign are Everton's Idrissa Gueye, West Ham United's Cheikhou Kouyate and Liverpool ace Sadio Mane. The Lions of Teranga will be hoping Mane provides the firepower for them in Gabon – he has already scored nine goals in the English top flight this season.

CAF African Player of the Year and BBC African Footballer of the Year Riyad Mahrez will also be at this year's competition. The Algerian winger hasn't quite been at his best for Leicester City in 2016/17 so far, but will be hoping his partnership with club teammate Islam Slimani will produce a bit of magic for the Desert Foxes.

Ghana's Black Stars are usually tipped to go far in the continent's coveted competition, and with the help of Leicester's Daniel Amartey and West Ham's Andre Ayew, they may see themselves in the final once again.

Lastly, Egypt will also have a Premier League representative at AFCON this year, Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny. The 24-year-old has played regularly for the Gunners this season, and will be aiming to help the Pharoahs progress as far as possible in Gabon.
