The Bafana Bafana international was reportedly on the verge of finding himself in hot water with FC Steaua Bucuresti.
The central defender was not included in the matchday squad for the team's recent 1-1 draw against FCV Farul Constanta, but it has been alleged that the reason for this was because he refused to travel to Ovidiu for the encounter.
According to Romanian publication Fanatik, the 27-year-old told club doctors that he was injured; however, their diagnosis proved otherwise. The same report claims that FCSB's medical team determined that the Sebokeng native was indeed healthy, with the club arriving at the conclusion that he did not want to go to the match.
This is rumoured to have not gone down well with club president George Becali, and the club's executives initially wanted to set an example with Ngezana by fining him a total of €10 000 (R192 949). However, Becali ultimately changed his mind.
Becali jokingly said that the reason for the South African's likely decision to remain in Bucharest was because he had found a new Romanian girlfriend.
"There is no question of Ngezana leaving," the 66-year-old said.
"I also joked about the fine. He is a good boy, I only drew his attention to scare him and make him be good from now on.
"He didn't go to Ovidiu because he has a new Romanian girlfriend and he wanted to stay with her in Bucharest."
