This past off-season, the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner realised his dream by completing the long-awaited move to Los Blancos.
The move could also have happened in 2022, but he ultimately decided to prolong his stay at the Parc des Princes.
The pacey attacker has now revealed that he almost extended his stay in the French capital once again despite his expiring deal — this time for his brother, Ethan Mbappe.
PSG's all-time top goalscorer has revealed that his younger sibling has the same adoration for the record French champions as he has for Los Merengues and would have given up his ambition to play for the Spanish giants so his brother could live his dream of playing for Les Parisiens.
"It's the thing that affected me the most. He (Ethan), didn't ask for anything. His Real Madrid was PSG," the France captain told Canal Plus.
"What Real meant to me, his childhood dream, was PSG. At one point, I even told him: 'If you want me to, I'll extend [my contract] and you can stay, we'll stay here.' I would have given up my dream of Madrid and stayed for him.

"Ethan told me… 'I don't want to stay here. What they did to you, what they did to me, it's not normal.' If he had told me: 'Kylian, it's what I want.' I would have given up my dream of Madrid and stayed for him."
