Following the close of the transfer window on Friday evening, there is an update on Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Sammy Seabi.
The Siya crew has been informed that the player was able to receive his clearance from the Premiership champions before the deadline, making him available to join a club as a free agent outside of the transfer window.

Sundowns are yet to announce his departure, and there are plans to find him a new home where he can play regularly, with interest believed to be coming from Chippa United and rookies Magesi FC, who were unable to secure Sibongiseni Mthethwa on loan from Kaizer Chiefs, as was initially anticipated.
Before receiving his clearance from Sundowns, the central midfielder was no longer training with the first team at Chloorkop as he was not part of the technical team's plans.
He had one year left on his contract with the club, but the two parties were able to agree on a settlement for the player as they parted ways in time to allow the player to start searching for a new home outside of the transfer window.

The 29-year-old joined Sundowns in 2019 from Polokwane City, but was unable to earn himself a regular spot in the team. He was loaned out on three occasions by the club, to Swallows FC, Chippa United and Sekhukhune United.
Last season, he returned to Sundowns and spent the entire campaign there, though he was only able to make just four appearances in all competitions.
