As pressure has been mounting on Manqoba Mngqithi in these early stages of the season after Mamelodi Sundowns were knocked out of the MTN8 by Stellenbosch FC in the semi-finals, there have been calls from some sections of the club's supporters for changes to be made.
Mngqithi, who took over as the head coach this season after Rulani Mokwena left for Wydad Athletic Club in Morocco, has been aware of the unhappiness from some sections of supporters.

Speaking to the media recently, the mentor questioned the critics who seem to doubt his abilities to coach a club like Sundowns.
"But for someone to think I'm incapable of coaching Sundowns, it will be very strange for me," the coach said, in part, speaking to journalists.
With pressure mounting on Mngqithi, who has Steve Komphela and Romain Folz as part of his technical team, there has been talk about the possible return of Pitso Mosimane to the Chloorkop outfit.
For all the trophies he won with the Brazilians after many years with the club and the exciting football played by the team, Mosimane has remained a favourite for many of the club's supporters after almost four years since he left for Al Ahly in 2020.
During his tenure, Mosimane won several trophies with Downs, including the CAF Champions League and the Super Cup.

While some of the supporters have appeared to be anxious about what the season might have in store for the club under Mngqithi, the club isn't pressing any panic buttons at this stage but is supporting the coach to turn things around for the team, according to insiders.
"Coach Manqoba (Mngqithi) has got the backing of the club and the players and everyone he is working with. He isn't alone in this, and everyone is confident that the team will start winning games convincingly. There's a lot of work that's being done at training and soon people will see what his team is all about in terms of playing beautiful football and winning games. So, there are no technical team changes that are being planned at this stage," said the source.
