The story
Former Golden Arrows and AmaZulu shot-stopper, Siya Mbatha, made his first appearance on SABC's hit daily TV show, "Uzalo".
The 35-year-old is currently a free agent after parting ways with Abafana Bes'thende in 2023, having also represented Richards Bay and the now defunct Bloemfontein Celtic in the past.
Mbatha is playing the role of a footballer named, Mbense, on the show and is a prominent member of the fictional team KwaMashu FC, coached by Siyabonga Nomvethe, who plays himself on the show.
It was revealed in May this year that 'Bhele' will be taking on an acting role on "Uzalo", with his character tasked to collaborate with one of the main characters, Njinji (played by Thembi Nyandeni), in coaching the aforementioned fictional team.
