SCOUT REPORT
Close to action in KZN on the weekend was AmaZulu U15 coach Taoni Banda, who spoke to Soccer Laduma about what stood out about Kwezi Khoza.
What stood out to you the most about Khoza?
As young as she is, her movements off the ball were exceptional. She has that technique that most of the players have... even in the PSL, in the higher leagues, her acceleration is out of this world. When she gets the ball, how she accelerates and good ball control, she's a very good, brilliant player, individually and for the team as well, because she links up well with her teammates too.
Which professional footballer in South Africa or abroad does she play like?
For the position that she was playing and how she manoeuvred, she reminded us of Portia Modise.
Can you tell us about her personality?
She has that charismatic presence. She is a lovable player because everyone notices her, everyone. She is a charmer, let me put it like that.
Do Banyana Banyana fans have some exciting young talented players to look forward to?
It was exciting watching the girls because people... they think girls, when you watch the women's football, it's like "ag!". There was so much skill and so much talent, I'm happy! I hope coach Desiree [Ellis, Banyana head coach] is able to watch all these games and see how much talent we have, and how much of a future is coming towards her.
