Sekhukhune United could decide on a surprise coaching candidate as the club is expected to make a decision on the man to lead the team in the 2024/25 season.
Sekhukhune officially parted ways with Lehlohonolo Seema earlier this month after the mentor was initially placed on special leave in May.

Babina Noko's long-serving coach MacDonald Makhubedu finished the season in charge of the team and oversaw two matches, against AmaZulu and Chippa United respectively, picking up three points out of six on the team's way to finish 4th on the log.
From Kaitano Tembo, Brandon Truter and Lehlohonolo Seema, Makhubedu has worked with all those coaches and has been commended for his input in the technical team and contribution to the club since his arrival in 2021.
It was under Makhubedu that Sekhukhune got their promotion to the top flight in the 2020/21 season, having joined the club halfway through the campaign as a replacement for Johnny Ferreira.
While talks have been held with representatives of some of the potential candidates for the Sekhukhune role, Makhubedu has also been considered, according to sources.

"MacDonald Makhubedu is an important member of the Sekhukhune United technical team and he is valued highly at the club," said the source.
"He is a knowledgeable coach whose achievements are there for everyone to see. He is the same coach who was in charge when the team won promotion and his name has come up in the discussions about the head coach for next season," said the source.
According to sources, Dan Malesela is another coach whose name has come up in discussions for the Sekhukhune job.
