Defender Tristan Moses has explained why he was unable to secure a new home after leaving Mamelodi Sundowns in 2021.
Speaking exclusively to the Siya crew, the player revealed that he ran into problems with an agent he was working with at the time, which affected his chances of finding a new home.
Without naming the agent by name, Moses, who also previously turned out for Kaizer Chiefs, said he could not get hold of the intermediary during the off-season.
"At the time when my contract was renewed at Sundowns, I was working with an agent and I ran into some problems with him. He was telling me that he was working on something for me and that I shouldn't renew with Sundowns and things like that. But I was not able to get hold of him for over a month during the off-season and unfortunately, that led me going into a new season without a club," he shared.
"I then worked with Sean Roberts. He took me to TS Galaxy. I trained there for a bit, but sometimes it's difficult when you go to clubs during the season for coaches to have a look at you and make a decision because they are focused on the weekend (game).
More recently, I decided to work with Mike Makaab. I trained with an NFD (National First Division, officially known as Motsepe Foundation Championship) side, but I'd like to get an opportunity in the topflight. That's where my eyes are at."
The 26-year-old is determined to make a return to the elite division and has been working hard on his own to ensure he is ready for whatever comes his way.
"It hasn't been easy, but at the end of the day I am focused on my training and on my businesses. When an opportunity comes, I will be ready," concluded Moses.
