The sweeper-keeper has endured a difficult start to life at the Red Devils following his big-money arrival from Inter Milan earlier this year, having made a number of high-profile errors in goal after replacing David de Gea at Old Trafford.
At the time he joined 20-time English champions, Onana, 27, was not an international player after he made himself unavailable for selection due to a fallout with Cameroon head coach Rigobert Song at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The former La Masia academy player was sent home from the tournament early after reportedly taking issue with Song's request for him to play more conservatively, with Onana known for being confident with the ball at his feet.
However, the shot-stopper returned to national team duty in September after seemingly making up with the Indomitable Lions' manager and is believed to have since chosen to represent his country at AFCON early next year.
According to i news, Onana plans to "play every game he is called up for", which is likely to include Cameroon's matches at the continental competition in Ivory Coast over January and February.
