Siya sources have revealed how Arthur Zwane's blushes were spared during Kaizer Chiefs' technical team shuffle.
The winds of change swept through the corridors at Naturena on Monday, at least from a technical team perspective with Molefi Ntseki being replaced by Cavin Johnson, albeit on an interim basis, after just four months in charge of the first team.
'10111', on the other hand, managed to survive yet another technical team change and insiders have now informed Soccer Laduma how he survived the chop at the Soweto giants. In June this year, the former speedy winger was relieved from his duties as first team coach, just one season after he took charge of the team.
Rather than dismiss him outright, the Naturena-based outfit redeployed him as an assistant coach, a role he previously held under Stuart Baxter and Gavin Hunt.
In the latest turn of events, upon Ntseki's Chiefs exit, he has again been redeployed… this time back to his initial post in the club's development structures, an appointment which needs explaining given Zwane previously served as the club's DStv Diski Challenge head coach, a role currently occupied by Vela Khumalo.
The Siya crew has learnt that Zwane's reshuffle has come as a decision directly from Amakhosi supremo, Kaizer Motaung. Motaung Senior, according to insiders, views the half-century-old as an integral part of the Glamour Boys' set-up, having served the club for over 22 years both as a player and as a coach.
