Jude Bellingham has made an immediate impact at Real Madrid since his big-money arrival, but where does he rank among the club's 11 highest-paid players? Here are the biggest earners, after tax, at Los Blancos this season!
Check Out: Bellingham Equals Ronaldo Record After Stunning Solo Goal
The 20-year-old has taken Spain by storm since joining the 14-time European champions from Borussia Dortmund in a deal worth €103 million (R2 billion) in the recent transfer window, having scored six goals in his first seven LALIGA appearances. In the UEFA Champions League, Bellingham has picked up from where he left off with Dortmund, contributing to three strikes in Real's two opening group matches, including a stunning solo goal in his team's 3-2 away win over Napoli on Tuesday night.
The midfielder penned a six-year deal with the most successful side in the history of the Champions League, an agreement that saw him become Real's fourth-highest-paid player after deductions. According to Capology, the former Birmingham starlet is earning €192 308 (R3.8 million) a week after tax in Spain, a wage Brazilian winger Vinicius Junior is also believed to be on.
This means only three players – Luka Modric, David Alaba and Toni Kroos – are paid more than the England international in Madrid! Kroos, who also once starred in the Bundesliga, is reportedly on a weekly salary of €225 000 (R4.5 million) in the Spanish capital, followed by ex-Bayern Munich defender David Alaba and 2018 Ballon d'Or winner Modric.
Injured goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, who is likely to only return to action next year, comes after Bellingham and Vinicius in the list, and is followed by former Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger and France international Aurelien Tchouameni. The latter might be hoping to still grow into the adored figure he has seen his teammate Bellingham become, having struggled slightly since his arrival from Monaco.
The 23-year-old was linked with a premature departure from the Santiago Bernabeu ahead of Bellingham's touchdown in Spain, but is currently getting the game time to suggest head coach Carlo Ancelotti values his contribution deeper in midfield. Following the France international in the list are three players who all reportedly earn the same weekly salary – Ferland Mendy, Dani Ceballos and Dani Carvajal.
