On Tuesday, the 20-time English champions announced that the 25-year-old had committed to a new five-year deal at Old Trafford following a long process of discussions and negotiations. Rashford had entered the final 12 months of his contract in Manchester and was recently, and openly, pursued by Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain.
United, however, have managed to successfully fend off interest from the French club, who reportedly met with the England international last season to gauge whether Rashford was open to a potential move. Since his appointment last year, manager Erik ten Hag has insisted the forward is crucial to his plans and ambitions, and can now continue knowing his No. 10 will not be going anywhere any time soon.
According to the Daily Mail, the England attacker has been rewarded for his impressive performances in the previous campaign with a significant wage increase as he is now earning £375 000 (R8.8 million) a week at United, compared to the £250 000 (R5.8 million) weekly salary he was previously on.
Here are the 10 highest-paid players in England's top division:
This means Rashford is now among the 10 best-paid players in the Premier League, climbing above Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane, Manchester City's Jack Grealish and Chelsea's Raheem Sterling in the standing. The versatile winger now also earns more than Liverpool centre-back Virgil van Dijk and Romelu Lukaku, who is unlikely to still be at the Blues by the time the window slams shut.

Rashford's United colleague, Casemiro, is reportedly on the same wages, with only Reds winger Salah, City's Kevin De Bruyne and Haaland taking more money home every week.
The latter, who scored an incredible 52 goals in his debut season at the Citizens, is reportedly paid £865 000 a week (R20 million) at the Etihad.
