Orlando Pirates could miss out on an international defender who has been on the club's radar for some time, the Siya crew has learnt.
Earlier this year, the Soweto giants had been linked with Issoufou Dayo who has impressed in recent seasons for Moroccan side RS Berkane.

The centre-back has also been key for the Burkina Faso national team, with his performances keeping on improving.
While the Buccaneers are understood to be still keen on the 31-year-old with a view to add him to coach Jose Riveiro's squad for next season as the team will also be making a long-awaited return to the CAF Champions League, the Houghton-based club is facing competition from Europe, according to informants.
In the 2022/23 season, the highly-rated player has featured in 25, all starts, out of the 26 matches for Berkane in the league thus far and has scored an impressive eight goals.
It is understood that the player has attracted interest from clubs in France as he is unlikely to extend his stay with the Moroccan outfit beyond this season, with his current contract set to expire in at the end of this month.

The player's last contract extension with the club was in 2021 when he signed a two-year-deal.
Meanwhile, in their search for a defender, Pirates have been linked with both Marumo Gallants' towering Ivorian Olivier Touré and Sicelokuhle Hlatshwayo from Golden Arrows, while the MTN8 and Nedbank Cup champions are understood to have already agreed on deals with goalkeeper Melusi Buthelezi from TS Galaxy and midfielder Siphelo Baloni from Motsepe Foundation Championship side All Stars.
