Despite his concerns over losing some of his best players, Stellenbosch FC coach Steve Barker might struggle to hold on to the team's star performers from this past season.
The Cape Winelands outfit has been inundated with enquiries from potential suitors, with influential Argentinean attacker Junior Mendieta being one of the sought-after players after his impressive 2022/23 DStv Premiership campaign.

Mendieta scored 10 goals and racked up nine assists from 31 matches in all competitions during the recently completed season.
The 29-year-old is heavily linked with a move to Mamelodi Sundowns, while rivals Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates have also been keeping a close eye on him regarding his future at Stellies.

As indicated by close sources, Mendieta is not the only player from Stellenbosch to have attracted interest from elsewhere as some of his teammates might have offers made for their services in the coming weeks, including the likes of Iqraam Rayners, Sibongiseni Mthethwa and Sinethemba Mngomezulu among the players on the wish-lists of the big guns in Mzansi.
