Word reaching the Siya crew desk is that midfielder Jamie Webber is attracting interest from local rivals in the DStv Premiership.
The SuperSport United midfielder is out of contract next month and his current club has already missed the deadline to trigger the option on his existing deal, meaning he is free to join a club of his choice.
According to insiders, both Sekhukhune United and Swallows FC are keen on the former junior international.
Soccer Laduma has previously reported that Webber looks set to leave Matsatsantsa to make room for Siphesihle Ndlovu and Grant Margeman, two players who are on a short-term deal and loan respectively.
Webber joined the side in January 2018 from Stellenbosch FC and slowly fought his way into the first team under then coach Kaitano Tembo, establishing himself as a regular at the time. But with Gavin Hunt returning, the lad has been a bit-part player used coming off the bench or when there are injuries and suspensions.
The two clubs tracking his situation would give him a fresh start, but Siya sources have indicated that the player's camp has not settled on any major decision yet with more than a month before the July 1 transfer window opens.
SuperSport could still also do a U-turn should they fail in their quest to hold on to Ndlovu and Margeman, which, as things stand, seems unlikely.
