Sources have revealed that Babina Noko are monitoring the situation of Fortune Makaringe, with indications that Babina Noko are keen on beefing up the squad with the necessary experience.
"It seems the two sides have been talking and the indications are that Sekhukhune wants to bring in Makaringe during the off-season. Their technical team are convinced that if he joins the club he will add value to the team. His talent and experience are what they are looking for to add to their squad," a source said to the Siya crew.
A second source added that though Makaringe still has one year on his contract with Pirates, the club is willing to let him go.
"His contract is ending in June 2024 but because he is not in the coach's plans that much they are willing to let him go. Whether it's to go to Sekhukhune or another team, that I am not sure. But yes, Sekhukhune United are interested in him. It will all depend on the talks. But you know the two teams have a good relationship and that won't be hard deal to conclude," the source added.
Makaringe joined Pirates in July 2019 and signed a five-year contract which runs until June next year. Before he fell out of favour this season in the past three season he has been one of the trusted midfielders for the Bucs.
When called for comment, Sekhukhune United communications manager Thina Raman Tswana, brushed aside the reports.
"Let's not talk about player movements at the moment. We have important assignments to fulfil first, then when the season is over we will talk about that," she said.
