In a statement released on Monday, the Red Devils announced they have fined Mohamed Magdy, more commonly known by his nickname of "Afsha", for stepping up to take a penalty in their recent 1-1 draw with Pharco FC in the league.
Afsha struck from 12 yards and missed, despite the team's regular penalty-taker Ali Ma'aloul being on the field when the spot-kick was awarded.
The Egyptian giants confirmed the punishment for Afsha in a statement, while head coach Marcel Koller has admitted to being confused as to how the incident occurred.
"Ali Ma'aloul is our penalty taker," he said, according to KingFut.
"I don't know why Mohamed Magdy took the penalty instead."
