Argentina's Preliminary WC Squad Revealed, Two To Be Cut!

Argentina's 28-man preliminary squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup has been revealed, with two players set to be cut in the final announcement on 14 November.

With the tournament in the Middle East set to get underway in less than two weeks' time, team announcements are coming in thick and fast after Brazil's final selection was made public on Monday evening

This week, France, England and Spain will reveal their rosters for the Qatar World Cup, while Argentina's final squad will be named on 14 November, according to Mundoal Albiceleste.

The publication has reported this week that manager Lionel Scaloni so far has 28 names in contention for a spot in his side, with two players to be excluded in Sunday's announcement. 

Argentina's preliminary World Cup squad:

Goalkeepers: Emiliano Martínez (Aston Villa), Geronimo Rulli (Villarreal), Franco Armani (River Plate)

Defenders: Nahuel Molina (Atletico Madrid), Gonzalo Montiel (Sevilla), Cristian Romero (Tottenham Hotspur), German Pezzella (Real Betis), Nicolás Otamendi (Benfica), Lisandro Martínez (Manchester United), Marcos Acuna (Sevilla), Nicolas Tagliafico (Lyon), Juan Foyth (Villarreal)

Midfielders: Rodrigo De Paul (Atletico Madrid), Leandro Paredes (Juventus), Giovani Lo Celso (Villarreal), Alexis Mac Allister (Brighton), Guido Rodriguez (Real Betis), Alejandro Papu Gomez (Sevilla), Enzo Fernandez (Benfica), Exequiel Palacios (Bayer Leverkusen)

Forwards: Lionel Messi (Paris Saint-Germain), Lautaro Martínez (Inter Milan), Angel Di María (Juventus), Julian Alvarez (Manchester City), Paulo Dybala (Roma), Nicolas Gonzalez (Fiorentina), Angel Correa (Atletico Madrid), Joaquín Correa (Inter Milan) 

Villarreal midfielder Lo Celso and Roma attacker Dybala will reportedly be assessed in the coming days after recently sustaining injuries.
