Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro has refused to respond to his critics who doubted the mentor in his role as the new coach of the side.
When the Soweto giants announced Riveiro as their coach in June, some critics questioned the club's decision, as there was little information known about the mentor at the time.

The Spaniard has gone on to win a trophy after defeating AmaZulu in the MTN8 final at the weekend, and speaking to journalists after the match, the mentor refused to respond on critics.
"I'm not here to respond to that. I'm here to do my job. I'm a professional football coach. I am prepared to do it and that's why I got the opportunity to be part of this beautiful club. I would like to say thank my bosses for giving me the opportunity to represent a brand like Pirates. We are doing a good job together," said Riveiro, speaking to the media.

"I'm just a coach. There are a lot of things around the football game that we need to work on that need to be well-oiled. I have a responsibility, obviously. I understand that as coaches, we are in the spotlight for different reasons, especially when we lose. But there's nothing I can do about it. I cannot control it. I don't spend time thinking about it, and this is not revenge," the coach said.
