Reports claim that Real Madrid's top priority for the upcoming January transfer is to get rid of Eden Hazard expeditiously.
Report: Two Premier League Sides Want To Sign Messi
When the Belgian winger arrived at the Santiago Bernabeu in 2019, the La Louviere native was expected to continue his ascendance in becoming one of Europe's top footballers and the successor to Cristiano Ronaldo's throne in Madrid, but the reality has been far from it.
Since arriving in the Spanish capital, Hazard's Real career has been severely hampered by injuries and inconsistent form – he has missed the same number of games through injury as he has appearances for the 14-time European champions (72) – and it now appears that Los Blancos have become disillusioned with their most expensive signing ever.
According to Todo Fichajes, the Spanish and European champions are hoping Hazard shines for Belgium at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in order to see his valuation climb, so that getting him off their books can be as easy a task as possible.
The 31-year-old is not part of manager Carlo Ancelotti's plans for the team, and being the club's highest earner – according to Capology, he is paid €600 692 (R10.7 million) in weekly wages – it does not make sense, in a sporting and financial sense, for the club to keep hold of Hazard.
Ten Hag Makes Bold Ronaldo Prophecy
The Belgium international made his way to Madrid with a massive reputation after posting his best individual numbers in a Chelsea jersey, scoring 21 goals and providing 17 assists in all competitions during the 2018/19 campaign, but he has struggled ever since.
Now Los Blancos reportedly want to get rid of the former Lille man as soon as possible, whether it be on loan or permanently, with Newcastle United and his former side Chelsea both rumoured to be interested in the forward's services.
