Mamelodi Sundowns co-coach Manqoba Mngqithi has applauded Romain Folz for his impact in the DStv Premiership in the short time that he was with Marumo Gallants.
Folz had been the coach of Gallants since June, having arrived in Mzansi from Botswana club Township Rollers.

Under the French-Moroccan tactician, the Limpopo outfit had lost only once from five matches and although the other fixtures had been drawn, the team had been lauded for improvement in the way they played and the signs were there for them to start winning.
Mngqithi says he had been following the team and was impressed with what the 32-year-old mentor was bringing to the league.
"When I see other teams really bringing in coaches to try and play and play and play, it feels very good. You know, I must be honest there was a coach that was employed by Marumo Gallants, I thought that coach was bringing something into South African football. I was watching that team very closely and I was very impressed with what he was doing," said Mngqithi in the MTN8 semi-final press conference.

"But when coaches that are really bringing the game – the right type of a game, the right specimen of a South African game… because we are forever thinking we all deserve to win – in football you must accept that sometimes you don't win not because you have not played well but a game of football will always favour others. And we are not saying we don't want foreign coaches to come and improve our game. Good foreign coaches when they come and impact positively to us, we appreciate," the coach said.
