About a year and a half ago, then Kaizer Chiefs head of development and academy Molefi Ntseki tipped six young players to go on and reach stardom. Fast forward to the current day and it appears the former Bafana Bafana mentor's predictions were accurate.
"We have many excellent players in our academy currently. The six players I have picked out are part of a group of hardworking, highly talented young players. Looking at them holistically makes us very positive about the type of players coming through the system," he told the club's official website at the time.
For the most part, Ntseki's predictions are proving to be true, although for Phuso Dithejane, his breakthrough would only come after parting ways with the Glamour Boys.

Mazhamba is a young goalkeeper whose progress in the Chiefs development has been evident and remarkable. While Amakhosi have taken time to make a decision on promoting the 16-year-old shot-stopper to the senior team, indications from close sources are that the player is attracting interest from a few clubs in the DStv Premiership, including Mamelodi Sundowns.
Mfundo Vilakazi
Promoted to the first team this season, Vilakazi is seen as one of the future prospects at Naturena and the club has confirmed that they extended the deal of the midfielder which will see him staying with the Soweto giants until 2028, giving him a first team contract. Vilakazi, popularly known as 'Obrigado', made his first team debut in the Nedbank Cup clash against Motsepe Foundation Championship outfit Milford FC.
Phuso Dithejane
In October last year, Dithejane was amongst a group of players who were supposed to be ball retrievers for the first team match against AmaZulu at FNB Stadium, but refused. This led to the player being released by Chiefs and he subsequently joined TS Galaxy, where he has not only made his first team debut, but become an integral part of the Rockets side.
Neo Bohloko
Bohloko's exploits for the Amakhosi reserves saw him crowned the Player of the Season and the Top Goal Scorer at the club's awards ceremony, held at their Naturena base this week. The teenager managed to find the back of the net on 14 occasions and finished as the DDC's third-highest goal scorer behind Thabang Mahlangu of SuperSport United on 17 goals and Jody Ahshene of Cape Town City on 16 goals. A bright future has been predicted for the forward, who continues to break records for Amakhosi.
Thulani Mabaso
Still with the DDC where he is among the most impressive players. He has featured regularly for coach Vela Khumalo's side and insiders state that it is only a matter of time before he links up with the Chiefs first team.
Siyabonga Gumede
Like Mabaso, he is making headway in the Chiefs DDC side. He was been lauded for his goal scoring ability and is another who is touted to have a big future with Amakhosi.
