A former Spain and Cameroon manager has insisted that while Cristiano Ronaldo may have better abs than Lionel Messi, he is second best to the Argentine on the pitch.

Javier Clemente, who coached La Furia Roja between 1992 and 1998, and also had a short stint with the Indomitable Lions between 2010 and 2011, believes that while Ronaldo is better in certain aspects, Messi is the best player overall.
"Cristiano has better abdominals, a height advantage, and he headers better," he said, as quoted by AS.
"There are thing that Cristiano does better, but Messi beats him in technique, ability and vision, and that's that.
"(Ronaldo) should be happy and proud to be second in the world, there's no more noble thing in sport to recognise the quality of your rivals.
"Messi is ahead of everyone. He does different things and the sum of those parts lifts him to first place.
"This doesn't mean the rest aren't any good, and I don't know why some people get angry because of it."

Messi, Ronaldo and Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann are the final three nominees for the 2016 FIFA Best Men's Player Award, the winner of which will be announced on Monday, 9 January.
