Teams: Orlando Pirates v AmaZulu
Date: 20 April 2024
Venue: Orlando Stadium
Time: 17h30
Pirates booked their spot in the semi-finals of the Nedbank Cup after thrashing AmaZulu 4-2 in the quarter-finals thanks to a brace by Patrick Maswanganyi and goals by Kabelo Dlamini and Makhehlene Makhaula last weekend.
The Buccaneers scored 11 goals in two games after also hammering Golden Arrows 7-1 in a league game prior to the Nedbank Cup quarter-finals.
Jose Riveiro's charges are lying third on the table, three points behind second-placed Stellenbosch in the race to qualify for the CAF Champions League.
Usuthu's two goals from Hendrick Ekstein and Taariq Fielies in the Nedbank Cup quarter-finals were not enough to prevent defeat against Pirates.
The KwaZulu-Natal outfit were coming off a 1-0 win over Cape Town City in the league before a loss against the Buccaneers.
Pablo Franco Martin's men are placed 12th on the log, two points behind eighth-placed Kaizer Chiefs.
The sides played to a goalless draw in the first round meeting at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
