The sportswear giant and the Catalan club first began working together in 1996, with a new deal being agreed again in 2018 under Josep Maria Bartomeu's presidency.
New president Joan Laporta, however, believes the club could receive more significant figures elsewhere and is said to feel the penalties Barcelona are given by Nike if certain objectives are not met are unfair.
This is according to Mundo Deportivo, who were recently told by Laporta that the Blaugrana had sought to cancel its agreement with Nike after accusing the company of contract breaches.
On Monday, though, it was reported that a judge has ruled the deal that is in place until 2028 will need to be honoured.
It has now been claimed that Nike has met with Barcelona officials to discuss new terms, with Marca reporting that the current deal is worth €85 million (R1.7 billion) a season, with a further €20 million (R404 million) in variables.

Amid rumours the sports brand has still not reached the figures the LALIGA giants are looking for, it is believed that the new proposal, which would also see their relationship being extended, could be one of the largest sponsorship deals in history.
