Kaizer Chiefs bagged the Maize Cup title this past weekend, beating both Township Rollers and Free State Stars to walk away as winners of the mini tournament. Gustavo Paez was the talking point for Chiefs as the Venezuelan striker scored a brace to secure a spot in the final against Ea Lla Koto.
One supporter shared his views on Chiefs' goalscorer, and compared the South American to former Glamour Boys striker Knowledge Musona.
"Paez arrived at Naturena with his football background surrounded by criticism and doubt, as we heard people questioning his goalscoring ratio, as it was revealed that Paez scored only 11 goals in 11 seasons.
"However, Gustavo Paez is slowly but surely proving his doubters wrong, showing hunger and determination in every game he has played thus far, settling nicely in Steve Komphela's Kaizer Chiefs team.
"The 27-year-old's off-the-ball movement is excellent and his work rate is comparable to none, playing a high-pressing game, chasing and fighting every ball that comes his way, and he also has an eye for goal and that's what makes him a good striker that can fit so well in the shoes left by Amakhosi's goal poacher, Knowledge Musona." – 790220
