Chiefs’ Katsande To Hit Special Milestone Tonight
Willard Katsande Will Hit A Kaizer Chiefs Milestone Tonight
Willard Katsande is set to hit a special milestone with Kaizer Chiefs this evening after racking up nearly a double century in appearances for the club.
Katsande, who is 31, joined the Glamour Boys back in 2011, however only started to become an integral part of the side under Stuart Baxter during the 2012/13 season. Since that campaign, he has missed just 16 out of 152 matches and has donned the captain’s armband on numerous occasions.
Now, with Chiefs eagerly chasing their first win of the season against Cape Town City, the Zimbabwean is confident that they can pick up three points in what will be a special occasion for him on a personal level.
Speaking to Chiefs’ official website, the midfield enforcer said, “We lost 3-2 last season in Cape Town while playing so well. It was an enthralling match and it was actually one of our best performances in the 2016/2017 Absa Premiership season. If we deliver that kind of quality football again, we will win this time around.
“I also hope that our fans will turn up in numbers at the Cape Town Stadium. They are always great and we need their support. We definitely owe them and we will reward their continuous support come Wednesday evening.”
Katsande is expected to join the likes of Itumeleng Khune and Siphiwe Tshabalala in the Amakhosi 200-club this evening.
