Sundowns Approach City For Star Players?

Sundowns Approach City For Star Players?

By Soccer Laduma - Aug 09, 2017 10:37 AM

Siya sources in the know have indicated to Soccer Laduma that Mamelodi Sundowns have approached Cape Town City for two of their star players.

It has been revealed over the past months on the Soccer Laduma website that Masandawana are keen on landing the signatures of both Lebogang Manyama and Aubrey Ngoma ahead of the 2017/18 campaign.

Pitso Mosimane is a big admirer of Manyama and confirmed earlier this year that he would like to have the player at his club. This after Soccer Laduma broke the news of Masandawana’s interest in the 26-year-old.

City Chairman, John Comitis, thereafter confirmed to the Siya crew that Manyama was not for sale, with it subsequently being revealed that City reportedly slapped a €1 million price-tag on the player’s services.

However, despite the reported price-tag, Siya sources revealed that the player is still at the top of Mosimane’s wish-list.

With regards to Ngoma, earlier in the year Comitis issued a statement to the media whereby he revealed that Mosimane allegedly contacted Ngoma to try and lure the player to the Chloorkop-based club next season. According to Comitis, this took place without City’s consent.

The 27-year-old suffered a set-back in the off-season, after he sustained an injury while on duty for the South African national team. Ngoma has since undergone surgery and despite the player set to be sidelined for several weeks, Sundowns have still not given up their pursuit in trying the land the player’s signature.

It has since been confirmed to the Siya crew by sources within both the City and Sundowns camp, that the CAF Champions League winners have made an official approach to the Mother City-based club for the services of both Ngoma and Manyama.

As previously revealed on Soccer Laduma, it is no secret that Manyama is looking to move on from the Cape Town-based club, with indications that the midfielder has set his heart on turning out for the Brazilians in the new season.

Real Madrid of Africa. Finish and Klaar. Like pitso said last season , we will need 2 teams , 1 to focus on the league and cups , the other on the CAF. We lost the league last year simply because of injuries and Fatigue on the players. We have learnt and do not want to be in the same predicament. Plus this boys are from SA and we have already reached our Quota in terms of foreign players. everyone wants to join an ambitious team. believe me you will have a CAF medal whether you are in the first eleven or not!!! You can ask Teko Modise!!!!

They want and approach every player but only sign that Ghanaian free agent who is a goalkeeper . If you look at other articles even a Manyisa deal is not sealed , Khoza may have given Downs Manyisa easy but Manyisa has to still agree his personal terms with Downs ! It's not easy , he's been earning R75k at Bucs but rejects Downs R105k salary claiming he's old and wants money to raise his kids but Downs want to hear none of that .

It's unSundowns to talk interest in players without actually signing them ! It seems the exposure of the Guptas has also affected SA football too .

If this is true and Lebese joins that group, really Sundowns will rule PSL but G17 will regret his decision
