Mahlambi Cleared To Make Al Ahly Debut

Phakamani Mahlambi Could Get His Al Ahly Debut This Weekend

By Joe Crann - Oct 10, 2017 10:57 AM @YesWeCrann
Phakamani Mahlambi could be in line to make his Al Ahly debut this week after being granted the paperwork he needed to get out on the field.

The 20-year-old completed a big-money move to the Egyptian giants last month from Bidvest Wits, becoming the first South African to join the powerhouse club after his impressive performances for the Clever Boys.

However, despite scoring a brace in a friendly shortly after arriving, paperwork issues and Ahly’s CAF Champions League commitments mean that – until now, he has not been able to make his official debut.

That could all change this week though, with Mahlambi available for selection when the team comes up against Al Ittihad on Thursday, with a clash against El Raja following shortly after. It is thought that he should feature in at least one of the two matches.

Mahlambi jets back to Egypt this week after being on Bafana Bafana duty for the World Cup qualifier against Burkina Faso.

We were misled the last time. The heading said "Mahlambi scores a brace on debut." What a shame!
