Sundowns Comment On Quiet Transfer Window

Mamelodi Sundowns Comment On Quiet Transfer Window

By Soccer Laduma - Jul 13, 2017 10:15 AM

Mamelodi Sundowns have been relatively inactive during the current July/August transfer window with their media coordinator explaining that clubs want too much money for players that the Brazilians show interest in.

It has been reported over the past few months on Soccer Laduma that Masandawana were looking to bolster their squad with the likes of Aubrey Ngoma, Lebogang Manyama and Rivaldo Coetzee.

However, upon discovering the interest in their players from the CAF Champions League winners, the likes of Cape Town City and Ajax Cape Town have put huge price tags on their player’s services, in order to force clubs to shy away from their interest.

Speaking in this week’s edition of Soccer Laduma, Sundowns’ Media Coordinator, Thulani Thuswa, thinks that clubs who put hefty price tags on their players’ services, are depriving them of playing on the continental and global stage.

“As coach Pitso Mosimane has previously said, lately as soon as they hear Mamelodi Sundowns want a (player), they start putting these high prices. For Sundowns, they want R5 million, R10 million and R15 million. You are not only blocking players from playing for Sundowns, but you are doing so to stop them from participating on the continental and global stages,” Thuswa told the Siya crew.

“It has been tough for us to get players now because of the ridiculous price fees. In any case, we also don’t just buy players for the sake of it but buy players where we need players. It is based on what the technical team needs,” he added.

Sundowns are the ones who did this to themselves. They thought they were bringing competition by buying players with high money. Why complain now?

sundowns think other teams ar spaza shop where u can get product at a duscounted price any time. What do they expect when they want players who ar not transfer listed by their current clubs? other teams have ambitions too, sundowns must not bully teams. they talk as if they ar the only team who is allowed to play in CAF tournament. But all in all sundowns have best players n what they should be doing is to promote their MDC players .

THIS IS THE price that the team is paying for the success story currently being told, therefore the team must also be prepared to spend like the champions that they are.

Most players dream of playing in Champions league here in South Africa but people who are greedy won't let them go to Mamelodi Sundowns,so the owners of the club wants more money when this team enquire about a player.thank you Pitso for saying no to R14million for Manyama.

Sometimes clubs thy refuse because thy also have their ambitions of winning something and they can't always be developing players jst for the big teams to reap the rewards, holding on them improves the standard of football. As for the CAF Platinum stars, Supersport, Wits and Sundowns are or were participating which also give more players exposure to African football so the reasoning of depriving players to compete in CAF does not hold water because very few will be exposed if one team is there but with quality on other teams gives them an opportunity to compete for that participation. Though there is some truth in over pricing the players but they have right to do that as the player is still theirs.

@cowpule but your chiefs cannot even spend over R1M to start with, so you cant argue for free agents vs psl teams
