Italian giants AC Milan have announced the sacking of Vincenzo Montella, as well as who has replaced him in the club's dugout.
Juventus Cruise To Victory, Napoli Remain Top
The club announced via Twitter on Monday morning that Montella had been relieved of his duties following their disappointing start to the season.
Milan find themselves 18 points off the top of the Serie A table, while they are also six points behind Sampdoria, who are in sixth place.
Montella, who was appointed as manager in June 2016, guided Milan to a sixth-place finish last season, but with not many signs of improvement in this campaign, he has now been sacked, and legendary midfielder Gennaro Gattuso has been announced as his successor on an interim basis.
