Xolani Mlambo Praises Gavin Hunt's Plan

Bidvest Wits midfielder Xolani Mlambo has praised Gavin Hunt's game plan following the win over Kaizer Chiefs.

James Keene's first-half header was enough to hand Wits a 1-0 win over the AmaKhosi on Saturday afternoon.

The Clever Boys have now advanced to the final of the competition and Mlambo says Hunt's plan worked on the day.

"It was not an easy game, Kaizer Chiefs are a good side, they gave us a run for our money. We had to do whatever we wanted to do to keep the clean-sheet, we knew that once we keep the clean sheet and get one goal we can get through to the next round," Mlambo told SuperSport after the game.

"We had a bit of a sloppy start and we gained momentum but after Chiefs got the red card, they were definitely wonderful, they kept us running, we just had to keep our discipline after we got that goal. So I reckon the coach's plan really worked well for us.

"With the situation we're sitting on now, every game is important. We had to focus on this game, now it's over we have to switch on and focus on our next game in the league and turn our situation around."
