Zinedine Zidane, who was also named FIFA's The Best Men's Coach in 2017, won the award handed out by the International Federation of Football History Statistics (IFFHS) after receiving 326 points from the 91 football experts around the world.

The Los Blancos boss can look back at a superb year that saw him become the first coach to defend the UEFA Champions League title and guide Real to their first La Liga trophy since 2012. In addition, his side also collected the UEFA Super Cup and the Spanish Super Cup at the beginning of this season.

Zidane has a chance to lift his fifth trophy of 2017 – more than any other Real boss has achieved in a calendar year – at the FIFA Club World Cup, in which his side face Al Jazira in the semi-final on Wednesday night.

The Frenchman was followed by his Champions League final opponent Massimiliano Allegri, who received 70 points, while Chelsea's Antonio Conte completed the podium with 66 points.

Mourinho finished in seventh place despite lifting the FA Community Shield, the League Cup and the UEFA Europa League in his first season at United.
