Kaizer Chiefs have been warned not to expect another win as they prepare to visit Cape Town City in their next match.
Having seen his side suffer a loss against Chiefs already this season in their Absa Premiership match at Newlands Stadium in August, City's head coach Benni McCarthy has issued a warning that his team is not prepared to come out second best this time against the Soweto giants.
The Citizens will host Amakhosi at Cape Town Stadium on Saturday in their eagerly-awaited Telkom Knockout Last 16 match.
"I think it's a big occasion for everybody – me included, of course. The form they are in at this moment in time… and they are a team to beat. But, I think, we take positive from the last game we played against them even though the scoreline wasn't favouring us," said McCarthy, speaking to the media this week about the clash.
"But I think the way we applied ourselves in that game we've got nothing to fear. It's great for the fans to come out because it will be two teams that will be having a go at each other. I think our players… we've got a lot to make right. So, I think the game comes also at a good time to test ourselves that we're always special. Let's hope we can go out there and put up a performance that people will appreciate, not only the good football that we play, but this time I think we don't want to come out second best," the coach added.
