After Lionel Messi's historical trophy triumph with FC Barcelona on the weekend, here is the latest on his future in Spain amid speculation linking him with Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain.
According to Mundo Deportivo, contract talks between Messi and the Catalan club could soon begin ahead of the expiration of his current deal in June.
It is claimed that the 33-year-old's father, Jorge Messi, is currently in Barcelona to open discussions with the Spanish giants, as has been confirmed by leading football journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The Italian states that Jorge, who represents his son, could enter into negotiations with president Joan Laporta regarding Lionel's future in the coming days.
The Argentina captain was very close to leaving the LaLiga side at the beginning of the season, with City tipped as his desired destination at the time.
Ahead of the 2020/21 campaign, however, PSG appear to be the favourites to land his signature should he make it clear he wants to move on, which he would be able to do as a free agent.
