Leonardo Castro Has Discussed His Time At Kaizer Chiefs So Far
Leonardo Castro had the best possible start to life at Kaizer Chiefs as he scored the winner against Baroka FC last weekend, and now he's looking to haunt his former employers.   Check out Kaizer Chiefs new number 8 in action in the gallery above   The Colombian hitman joined the Amakhosi from Mamelodi Sundowns earlier this month after the two teams agreed on a transfer fee of upwards of R2m for his services, and he burst out of the blocks by scoring on his debut to seal three points for Steve Komphela's side.   Read: Maritzburg Promote Teen Duo   Speaking to the club's official website ahead of facing his old club this weekend, the 28-year-old discussed how he's settling in at Naturena, touching on the fact that he's trying to pick up some Zulu during his time in Mzansi.   He said, "The facilities are fantastic and the people are also very nice. There is a great family atmosphere at the village, which is good to see. I feel right at home.    "I try to always do something extra. For example, on the Tuesday after the Baroka FC match, we only had a gym session. However, I still went with 'Shabba', Gustavo Páez and Ryan Moon to the pitch to practice on crossing and finishing. Life is simple; you get out what you put in."   Regarding the new languages that he's been exposed to since moving to South Africa, he added, "I listen to the Zulu spoken and try to pick up the words. Nobody is really teaching me the language at the moment, but that might change. Maybe one of the players will help me get an even better understanding of Zulu."    Click here to check out the PSL fixtures   But who is his role model? Who did Castro model his game on? Well, it's Thierry Henry, and he explained exactly why.   "He made his team play," Castro says. "I copied some things of the way Henry finished and always looked what he did in certain game situations. An example is my goal against Baroka FC – I received the ball and finished. Those are some of the aspects I learnt while watching Henry play."   It remains to be seen whether Castro will start against Masandawana this weekend, but following his performance against Bakagaga, the Amakhosi faithful will be excited to see him donning the jersey again.
