Orlando Pirates Still Keen On Bidvest Wits Midfielder

Bidvest Wits midfielder, Ben Motshwari, remains a transfer target for Orlando Pirates, with the club still keen on landing the player.

The midfielder is also a transfer target for Mamelodi Sundowns, as previously reported by the Siya crew. As reported in issue 1014 of the Soccer Laduma newspaper, Pirates are interested in landing Wits’ star midfielder, who has been their transfer target for some time.

Towards the end of last year it was reported by the Siya crew that Pirates enquired about the player, prior to the start of the 2016/17 season.

The Buccaneers were unsuccessful in their pursuit of the player, as Wits kept him in Gavin Hunt’s squad for the current season. In edition 1010 of Soccer Laduma it was reported by the Siya crew that Sundowns had intensified their interest in Motshwari.

As it stands, it seems both Sundowns and Pirates are interested in signing Motshwari for their respective teams in preparation for next season.

“Ben Motshwari has been a top performer for Wits over the last few seasons. He has been linked with a move away from the Braamfontein club for some time now. Sundowns are interested in Motshwari. But it won’t be easy for them because Pirates have also renewed their interest in the player,” a source told the Siya crew.
