Despite Klopp's Liverpool being one of the most successful teams in world football of late and the German tactician winning The Best FIFA Men's Coach for a second consecutive year, he is believed to earn far less than Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone did in 2020.
The Argentine boss reportedly gets paid €43.6 million (R778 million) annually in Spain, which makes him the highest-earning coach this year. Per figures from L'Equipe and Tuttomercato, he was paid almost double what second-placed Manchester City's Pep Guardiola earned.
Mourinho was said to be the fourth-highest earner in 2020, more than Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane, who was reportedly paid €16.8 million (R299 million) over the course of the calendar year.
There is one manager in the top 10, Thomas Tuchel, who is said to no longer be in a job, having reportedly been sacked by French giants Paris Saint-Germain last week Friday.
