SAFA have confirmed that Tokelo Rantie has been released from Bafana Bafana camp ahead of the national team's encounter against Burkina Faso on Saturday.
Bafana Bafana will face their West-African rivals in the first qualifying match of the 2018 Russia World Cup on Saturday, October 8 at Stade du 4 auot in Ougadougou.
Rantie was called up by head coach Shakes Mashaba, and is one of the four Bafana internationals currently in the squad that plays abroad.
However, SAFA have now confirmed that the player has been withdrawn from the Bafana camp after failing to report for camp on time.
Rantie failed to report to the national team on the scheduled day, Sunday, October 2, and was not present in camp the following day when the rest of Mashaba's squad arrived for official training.
"We thought in the spirit of encouraging team spirit and discipline, we must release Rantie from camp," said coach Ephraim 'Shakes' Mashaba."
"Rantie's matter will now be handled by the Association for further disciplinary measures," SAFA revealed on their official website.
