Gavin Hunt: We Shouldn’t Be Winning The League
Bidvest Wits head coach, Gavin Hunt, thinks that his side is under no pressure to win the league, as the likes of Kaizer Chiefs or Mamelodi Sundowns should be the ones to come out victorious.
Wits were able to snatch just a point away from their title-rivals, Cape Town City, at the Cape Town Stadium last night, however, remaining second placed with just one point separating the Students from Head Coach Eric Tinkler’s side at the helm.
The Clever Boys, however, have two games in hand, but should the team collect maximum points in those encounters and be on par with the 24-matches played in the Absa Premiership thus far, Wits could find themselves comfortably placed at the number one spot on the log with 51 points.
Despite Wits’ two games in hand advantage, Head Coach, Gavin Hunt, believes that his side is under no pressure to win the league, but is disappointed with coming away with just a point against City last night.
“I think we are under no pressure because we shouldn’t be winning the league, I think, Sundowns should win the league, and Chiefs should win the league, those things. I don’t think we are under any pressure, I just feel that we have got ourselves in such a good position that we don’t want to play and have regrets, we have regrets tonight (last night) and that is disappointing,” Hunt told the media after last night’s 1-1 draw against City.
